CyprusNet – The brand new Cyprus network.

Postby Aris » Sat Nov 06, 2004 1:23 am

Today we have launched the Beta Version of the biggest network of portals/directories in Cyprus - CyprusNet.

The websites are still under development but we believe that now they reached a stage that can be presented to the general public. This post is the first public announcement.

The first wave of 30 websites have now completed 90% of the first level of their development and 5 more websites are coming up before the end of 2004. By the end of 2005 we are planning to have online about 200 fully functional Vortals (Vertical Portals) many of which you can preview already.

Please visit http://www.CyprusNet.com and tell us what you think. Your feedback is very valuable and will be taken seriously into consideration.

Thanks.

Hi,

The design is really slick but why does each portal open in a new window ? As a portal i think it would be better to keep in one window but have the main portal areas accessible from a strip of link logos along the top !

Just my opinion.

For those of us condemned by CYTA to narrowband, it is far too slow to download. Too much graphics and graphically-oriented ads.

Site looks great, contains all the usual links plus a couple I hadn't found before. I agree with a previous post that for dial-up users it is a little too graphic-intensive. Perhaps you could have a lower graphics option for them. No problem with 1mb broadband though :D
