The Great Depression of the 1920s brought Germany to its knees, with inflation going through the roof and unemployment reaching 30%. It took a new regime to trigger economic recovery, reinvigorating national pride and mobilising the workforce in a massive rearmament programme to achieve 'liebensraum'. The collapsed economy of Greece 2011 might benefit from a similar economic revolution, using the liberation of Cyprus (many of whose population perceive themselves to be Greek) as a just national cause to unite under. Gas reserves to the south east of the island offer a lucrative financial incentive for both Greece and other willing European allies to free northern Cyprus from 37 years of tyranny... Discuss.

Sounds good, won't work. Greece is under treason, wait for that to end and we'll see then.

Then again, we have the Pravda speculation of Russian-Turkish war caused by Turkey-Israel tensions which will, as the article says, cause a rebirth to Greece... we can wait for that

avent you heard of teh Egyptians trying to topple Mubarak? The people have not yet decided what they want. A large number of them want the Islamic brotherhood to come into power. You know what that means to any pact Egypt made with Israil. So I would not bank on any present Turkey-Irrail tension yet. As I said previously poloitical alliances are very fluid. The moon rises and the moon sets. I aint talking about the crescent but the tidal flow.
