Turkey - the "new" bully in the region

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Turkey - the "new" bully in the region

Postby georgios100 » Fri Mar 05, 2010 6:29 pm

After the disposal of Saddam Hussein, bully No. 1, Turkey and it's leadership is next in line. Turkey is a powerful country with a Hugh army arsenal. Bullying targets are Greece, Cyprus, Syria, Armenia, Kurds, Israel... the list goes on and on.

A bundle of resolutions are looming over Turkey including the latest for the Armenian genocide. UN and EU resolutions are ignored systematically by the Turks. US-Turkey relations are deteriorating fast.

I believe the time has come for someone to counter Turkey's ambitions and put a stop to its bullish behaviour... But who?

Are you implying that 'you are not man enough to stand up for yourselves'?
What happened to so called ECHR rules that no one could stand against (or so you reckoned).
It takes two to tango unfortunately, there is two sides to every story and the sooner everyone realises that the better it would be for everyone.Everyone has a reason for their actions and just because one acknowledges that as right or wrong,it doesn't mean neither. However,if a solution is to be reached then a comprimisation must be made by the two parties.

Turkey has a lot of enemies in the region, Cyprus is the smallest one to stand up to Turkey. A solution for Cyprob is not the end of Turkey's aggression but a small part of it. Most likely a big powerhouse (USA,. Russia etc) might take action to this growing threat. Israel, backed by USA, is also considered a major player in the region. The way things are developing, something is bound happen eventually.

I think Iran probably sees itself as next in line.

As for Turkey, yes they are a cowardly bully because curiously you never hear them violating Russian airspace.

Nobody violates Russian airspace!!!

If the Turks tried, they would get their ass kicked sky high so bullying the weaker countries is just about all they do. It takes balls to go against the Russians, balls which the Turks don't have.

As for the Iranians, these guys are begging for trouble. The latest I heard from an Iranian friend of mine was that Iran wants to become the Great Persian Empire that once was some 2,500 years ago. Good luck with that dream...

You mean like what happened in Chechenistan, which is why they are still fighting or similar to Afghanistan where a bunch of herdsmen kicked their ass and had to withdraw like bitch on heat with her tail between her legs. If there was a dispute between the Ruski and the Turks I have no doubt that they would get the same treatment . Instead the wily rusky has more sense in one toenail that the whole of the greek community and realise the importance of talk and trade and have been doing both since the second world war. I think you may be surprised to find out that is the reason why the Turks and the Ruskies get along well to the benefit of both.
Now what was that about Turks being scared? you really have not learned a thing since 1963. I seem to remember a discussion with one of my GC friends in 74, telling me the reason why the Turks kept coming at them was that they were high on drugs. Yeah right and pigs will fly too. Let’s face it the Turks are one of the few races who pride their warlike characteristics. You can kid yourselves all you like, Turkey thinks they have a share in the med and have the force and the backing to take it. If you make the same mistake as the Greeks of the seventies like them you will get hold of as much Gas and Oil as they did. There are two choices in life. Either you learn from your mistakes or you pay for it. Take your pick boys and girl.

So what's Turkey's agenda when it deliberately violates Greek airspace?

To say hello?
