Turkish civil war: whose side are Cyprus Turks on?

Postby Malapapa » Thu Feb 25, 2010 12:53 am

Turkish military is at an uncomfortable crossroads
...a string of allegations about coup plots ... – and this week's arrest and formal indictment of seven senior military officers ... – have brought ... tensions to a new level.

...a series of crises have produced bitter recrimination and left relations between the government and the generals increasingly frayed.

They raise fundamental questions about whether peaceful cohabitation is possible between the staunchly secular military and a governing party with Islamist roots.

The question is, whose side are Cyprus Turks on?

Who's GW?

Now you are showing your age. You must be 12 or less. GW Bush of course. He coined the phrase either you are with us or against us. Isn't that what you were saying. Isn't there a third option. Why worry about something you have no control over, other wise known as don't give a shit side?

:? Now you’re really taxing TC brains! Talk to them about handouts, loot, stolen artifacts, piracy, stolen properties… you know stuff that they actually dig!

Anything else requires opening a book (like finding Turkey on a map first) and that is anathema in the Ottoman-Muslim way of existence…

They ought to have a view, though - as the very existence of their lawless fiefdom depends on who wins this monumental power struggle.
