New Year's resolution for troubled Cypriots

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

New Year's resolution for troubled Cypriots

Postby Malapapa » Thu Dec 24, 2009 4:19 pm

A number of contributors on the CF problem section display some or all of these symptoms:

* Irritable and angry
* Difficulty concentrating
* Hypervigilant (on constant “red alert”)
* Jumpy and on edge
* Depressed and hopeless
* Feel alienated and alone
* Feel mistrustful and betrayed

You may well have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Please make it a New Year's resolution to seek professional help. Don't just do it for yourself, do it for Cyprus. I'm serious.

Not at all. PTSD contributes to the Cyprus problem.

YFred, who was in his words "surrounded and shot by eoka for 9 years" displays most if not all the tell tale signs of PTSD.

PTSD is believed to be caused by either physical trauma or psychological trauma, or more frequently a combination of both. Possible sources of trauma include experiencing or witnessing childhood or adult physical, emotional or sexual abuse. In addition, experiencing or witnessing an event perceived as life-threatening.

Here's a UK website that may be valuable for you YFred – and other Cypriots who have had similar experiences and are displaying similar symptoms:

http://www.ptsduk.co.uk

Good luck and do let us know how you get on.

I am the most hopeful person on earth. Always happy and smiling even when I am swearing.
I only swear at those who swear at me and my friends. Who ever gave you the medical certificate, should be sacked.
Have a merry hristomas and may most of your wishes come true in the new year. Particularly the ones not at the expense of the TCs. :lol: :lol: :lol:

That's all of them then. (And I do wish you'd check out the site)

Season's greetings to you too.
