Have seen a fair bit in Sierra Leon and Afghanistan, but I think you are referring to Cyprus, yes ?
I am sure it happens but at present I have not been on the receiving end. Maybe I am just a bit cautious who I deal with and I genrally don't lack common sense.
Business in Cyprus is good if you make an effort to fit in , learn the language and do not get to greedy. Off now to warm up the old muscles.

i saw it in the ukrain.. like in the movies where the police stop you for money and everyone takes bribes where you can buy any drug from the pharmacy with a little extra cash weed morpheen valium anything u want.. where the idiots drive along and dig huge holes in the road and just leave them there.

i was stopped and the police wanted money... but people make 50 euros a month there i can see why they would take bribes

i think more then poorer countries people are willing to take bribes as pay is so low and they just need the money badly.. i mean the police cars in the ukraine where 50 year old bangers and they where not all the same! one police car would be 500 years old that i could go rob a bank and run away from the police cars and i saw one that was 50 years old so they are very poor countries that dont care about a doctors note or will do anything for money and use their power to get it.

thats right it happens every where, but i have only seen for myself in cyprus...

i used to think cyprus was bad. then i went to the ukraine.. go there and thats all you will see corrupction and nothing else. i swore to myself i would never go back there.
