FEAST OF THE SACRIFICE BEGINS TOMORROW

Postby halil » Sun Dec 07, 2008 9:28 pm

People in North Cyprus are getting ready to celebrate the Kurban Bayram holiday or the 4-Muslim Feast of Sacrifice along with the rest of the Muslim World.

People in the Republic will, however, enjoy a six-day holiday, as the four-day Bayram which starts tomorrow linked up with the weekend.

The holy Bayram will start with prayers early in the morning.

The President of the Republic Mehmet Ali Talat in line with the Bayram tradition will be accepting well wishers tomorrow morning at the Presidential Palace.

The commander of the Turkish Peace Forces in Cyprus Lieutenant General Hilmi Akin Zorlu will also be accepting well wishers at the headquarters of the Cyprus Turkish Forces contingent in Lefkosa.

All Government offices, banks and public services for the exception of essential services will be closed throughout the Bayram holiday.

As always, the Lefkosa Fair Ground will be the place to celebrate the Bayram with various events including all sorts of entertainment.

The Lefkosa central prison will be open for visits between 9 am-4:30 pm throughout the Bayram holiday.

Meanwhile, the Petrol Station Owner’s Association has announced that petrol stations will be closed tomorrow, the first day of the Bayram holiday.

According to the Meteology department’s forecast, temperatures will cool down throughout the week with partly cloudy skies and light showers from time to time.

Who are they sacrificing? can someone film it and put a link to it.
The last muslim sacrifice I saw was taken in Kabul where they shot a load of women in the head, can't remember what the festive occasion was though.
