19. E.MEDITERRANEAN YACHT RALLY CONTINUES WITH THE TRNC LEG

Postby halil » Sun May 18, 2008 1:20 pm

Yachts sailing for the 19th traditional Eastern Mediterranean Yacht Rally arrived in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus yesterday.

The rally, which kicked off on 20 April in Istanbul and will continue until 18 June, is aimed at contributing to the development of the yacht sector in Mediterranean countries.

228 yachters from USA, Germany, Denmark, the Checzh Republic, Turkey, Canada, Austria, UK, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, New Zealand, Israel, Spain, Ireland and Sweeden are participating in the rally.

A reception was given by President Mehmet Ali Talat at the Girne Castle last night, in honour of yachters.

Today, yachters toured historical and touristic places in the TRNC.

A special event is also organized for yachters called ‘the Pirate’s Night’ which will take place at the Dome Hotel in Girne this evening.

Yachters will leave the TRNC tomorrow.

I often wonder what you tell tourists who are taken to see ancient sites like Salamis. Do you tell them that the Turkish army ETHNICALLY CLEANSED the descendants of the ancient people who built those ruins or do you pretend that YOU are their descendants?

Turks sailing yachts ... whatever next  (Oh well, anything to help with the transport of illegal immigrants ....)

Has anyone taught them to navigate properly, or should everyone else give them a wide berth?

Denizaksulu: "We are sinking, we are sinking!"

Halil: "OK, what are you sinking about?"

Grivas and GayReek.. the two Greek idiots... The ancient people were cleansed long before the Turkish army.

Yes, Halil it's great news. Also I heard each of those yachts were holding TRNC flags.

I think they will go from TRNC, Turkiye (ANAVATAN) east and easter Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt... lasting for 60 days.

Let's ignore the ignorant posts of the Greeks. Cevap vermeyelim.

The Yacht Rally is also supported by the UN.

The recent international rallies and competitions are doing great for the trnc.
