Serious question! How do you know if you have found Mr right

Postby Sophia1 » Sun Feb 03, 2008 11:13 pm

My boyfriend tony is an old fasioned Greek, he talks too much and even makes me feel like a Geek.

He flirts with me and treats me really nice, he takes me to flashy restaurants in his mercedes his review mirror also has dice.

But I am not romantic infact Im a tom boy kinda girl, I love my sports and staying home watching my movies in peace and quite.

He is not my dream man with thick black hair and hazel eyes, slim toned and into foot ball just like me, the man can't even swim he is cross eyed and shaves his hair.

My parents found out and although I am very young they want me to get MARRIED what!!

How do I know he is the right one???

You can't know for sure! People change with time in the end the most important things are respect and understanding.

This is called Romance Sofia.
This is called dating.
This is not love.
This is not a cause to get married to him.

And so what if your parents found out...hey Sofia, don't be the little Cyprus girl that she does what her parents say.

For heavens sake, I was arguing in another post, are we really Europeans?
Is is still the century in Cyprus when parents dictate to you when and to who to get married to?

WOW, they found out???? oh yes, do you have to stay virgin??? what is their problem.
Or do they want you to be UNhappily married because you dated someone.

ADVICE....
Don't rush....you yourself don't sound he is your man, just enjoy the outings Sofia, and your youth.
Call it a nice date with no strings....as long as it lasts...

You never find out anything about any man (and no man will find anything about any woman he is dating), until she /or he marries the person, and you live together for a year or so...that is when you figure out if you found "Mr or Mrs RIGHT".

Sophia
I thought long & hard as to whether I should post here but as a father of two daughters please do not be offended if I say to you 'do not fall in love with the idea of being in love'. Anyone who makes you feel as you described in your first sentence may not be right for you.
Umit07 sums it up well, mutual respect and understanding are pre-requisites and finaly if I may, do not be impressed with material posessions (you mention mercedes) they may not be indicative of the real character of the individual you may be thinking of talking to for the rest of your life. I have a young friend who drives an expensive Porche in order to try to impress (sad but true), sadly he struggles to find the cash to fuel it up.
I wish you well & hope you make the right choices.

Sophia,be very careful,& don't rush into things. It's a lesson my parents failed to learn, which is why they divorced over 20 years ago.My parents were incompatible.

I did too.

Anyway, Umit is almost correct: lust, respect, and understanding. Lust is the initial clincher. When that dies, and it always does, respect and understanding will prevail.
