Recently I contacted some members regarding their ways of posting. However I decided to make this "warning" a public one since it concerns most people.
The rule that is very often violated is the following:
Personal attacks are not allowed - Don't attack others. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully without insult and personal attack.
I do not expect you to be angels. However I wouldn't like this forum to be transformed into a battle field either. So from now on please try to follow the above rule, its not hard, and we will all feel better in the end. If a member makes a personal attack on you, do not reply and report his post to me.
Another issue I would like to bring up is that of "propaganda".
This is a discussion forum where people are supposed to discuss about how to solve the Cyprus problem. If you believe you know the absolute truth and you want to educate people about it then get your own website and do it there. This forum should be used when you are interested not only in letting others know what you believe is right, but at the same time listening to what others have to say and be willing to change some of your ideas.
Personally I learned a lot from the posts I read in here and I have changed several of my ideas. This is of course easier for me to admit since I do not participate in the discussions. However if you forget about your ego for a while I am sure you will find many things that you have been convinced about by the "other side". I believe this is the way to go for a constructive discussion.
