Questions About Cyprus from a Student

Postby makazine » Tue Jul 31, 2007 9:21 am

Hello everyone, I am a student at Houston Community College in Houston Texas and I am preparing for a semester abroad in Cyprus (at Cyprus College). I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions about the country.
I just wanted to find out what the generally acceptable fashion for young students to wear is, what type of food is eaten in Cyprus, how expensive is living in the country, and generally, how are minorities perceived? Also, what are your opinions about Cyprus College? I would really appreciate any sort of insight to these matters as I would like to be an informed guest.
Thank you in advance for your help and consideration. Have a great week.

Fashion=anything goes. From what I've seen going into PA college, scruffy hair, baggy jeans, designer t-shirts (tight), huge sunglasses, flip flops! We have all types of food. Even McD's and Burger King! All different cuisines. Life is as expensive as you make it. A coffee on the sea front can set you back 1.50-3.00 depending on where you go.

Cyprus College is one of the better colleges in Cyprus. With minorities what do you mean? Cypriot minorities or foreign students?

When I say minorities, I mean black-americans or black people in general (non-caucasian).
Also, what kind of shoes are good to wear? And how safe is Nicosia?
Thanks for your help.
