I have already expressed the view that discussions on religion are not appropriate on this board. In fact, they not discussions, at all, but one-sided proselytism. I suggested that Admin ban the subject and got a fair degree of support.

To reinforce this plea, I am reviving the issue with a poll. Please respond.

devil, I am in agreement with you on this issue, there have been so many posts lately that one could believe the forum is already an ecclesiastical forum, nothing wrong with a discussion from time to time, but it has gone a bit over the top lately....................... God Bless.

Guess what I voted for ?? You are right .Ban all religious discussions , debates etc, not only are such debates inflamatory but also rather boring since the repetitiveness is so predictable

Banning topics is not something I like to do. I would do this only for topics that would violate the law somehow.

Creating a new section for religion is a possibility only if several members want to discuss this topic in depth. Those that voted for the second option in the poll will need to clarify if they did so because they want to discuss religion or just to get rid of the religion threads from the "General Chat" section.

My personal opinion is that some of our members are overwhelmed by a few new members who started several new religion related threads recently. I have noticed that in some of those threads the initial post is just a link or copy/paste of an article and that could classify as spam and be dealt with in that way. I could also ask those members who like to discuss religion related topics to limit their discussion in a few threads instead of starting new ones.

I don't think it can be banned totally as the subject often comes up in the "Cyprus Problem". Definitely a separate board is what I vote for.

As instigator of this poll, I did allow myself to vote (naughty me, but the devil has freedom to flout polite conduct!) and I voted for a separate board. Yes, because I would like these boring threads removed from the General Chat board, while not being restrictive the sacrosanct freedom of speech with a total ban. I suggest you hit the nail on the head by implying that it would be to get rid of it in the chat section. As I write this, the voting was

I therefore believe that this means there is an overwhelming majority who don't wish to see religion here, on this board.

Of course, speaking as the Devil, I should really have voted to keep the status quo, because the crass theological ignorance displayed by many of those who have participated in these too-numerous threads only gives me more opportunity to claim their immortal souls when their moment of trespass arrives, because they obviously have no clue in the way my Enemy works, in His eternal wisdom. I look forward to welcoming them to my domain.
