I (accidently ) was viewing another Forum when I came across an amazing story.
Aparently, an English guy was arrested in the northern area of Cyprus, because he failed to have the appropriate hairdressing qualifications. His qualifications allowed him to work as a hairdreser but not to run a hairdresser's saloon. While he held a Grade 3 C&G Certificate, it is alleged he had forged a Grade 4 Certificate.
For this he was arrested on Friday, put in a tiny cell, with no water or lavatory facilities, his wife has not been allowed to see him, although was able to take him some food and water. There is no matress in his cell, he is not allowed a book, has had no legal representation and he has been told he will be deported, following his Trial.
So, you would be hairdressers - watch out if you ever cross the Green Line.
(Given the prevelance of corruption amongst lawyers, builders etc in that location, the double standards applied here are astonishing).
More gossip/allegations, as soon as I hear them!
