Hope it works out..
Here is a Dept of fisheries story from two years ago.Ladies mile beach.Diesel and rubbish been washed up on the beach for two days.It is the end of August and the place is packed. The local Taverna owner at the bottom of the beach calls the Dept of Fisheries who turns up a day later.
He takes photo's and pinpoints the problem immediately. Two large yachts anchored 200 meters off shore. There is a trail of diesel coming from one and they seem to be emptying there day to day rubbish in the sea.
The taverna owner says sought it out and stop the mess these people are creating.Time passes and he eventually manages to get out to the yachts, after a brief discussion he returns and tells the taverna owner it will be ok,they are leaving tomorrow.
She then get's very angry and shouts about polution and they should be arrested,at this point a large crowd has gathered and they demand action. The ministry man then explains the yacht belongs to a well known Cypriot no name just well known, and he leaves..
The taverna owner is outraged and starts swearing,an English guy steps forward and says he is from the base and will sought out the problem.10 minutes later two black assualt speed boats arrive, manned by Marines dressed in black, they board the yachts and take away 6 people.Five minutes later the yachts are taken away..
I never witnessed this but was told by a Cypriot friend.
Morale of the story, don't rely on Dept of Fisheries, call the Royal Marines.
