I can think of plenty of TCs on this forum that do nothing BUT agitate yet I’ve never seen you confront any of them… I wonder why?

Also, someone who supports the idea of an independent Kurdish state doesn’t necessarily also support the PKK.

With regards to Turkey being “indivisible” as per her constitution how ironic that they wish that for themselves yet have no such concern for others… what a pathetic bunch of illiterate gypsies they really are; I have ZERO respect for such clowns.

You are absolutely right GetReal but you must admit being the MASTER of all. I am only complimenting you. You are doing a good job for the reunification process.

there is 20 milion kurds in turkey all unable even to have their own religion tied up being forced to turn into turks... i say thats right for intervetion they should launch a "peace operation" and take some of the land

Kurdish Republic of Eastern Turkey (KRET)

When will Turkey cede territory in her east for the formation of a Kurdish state aptly named the "Kurdish Republic of Eastern Turkey" (KRET) ?

Turkey must show the world how PARTITION is done for the sake of her 30 million strong "minority" so that the Republic of Cyprus may learn and follow suit for the Turkish Cypriots with their "TRNC".

The recognition and formation of the "KRET" should be DIRECTLY LINKED to any recognition of the "TRNC" by the EU.

I'm Kurdish... And I'm from the "Dogu" or "South-East" - and I am not happy about the Turks here trying to paint my people in their chosen colour... Again... As they always try to do...

For starters, there are more than 20 million Kurds in Turkey. More than 5 million in Istanbul alone (known as: the worlds largest Kurdish metropol(!) )...

We're denied basic human rights - such as speaking our own language, without prosecution, torture or imprisonment... Heck, that's just the start of it... People would and still may "disappear" for owning a Kurdish cassette or VCD... It's illegal, you know... Maybe not on "paper" - but surely in their minds...

You know you Greeks should enforce some of the Turkish laws (forced upon Kurds)...

Next time you hear a man, woman or little child speaking in Turkish, torture him/her and throw him/her into jail - for terrorism...

Maybe that would wake them up from their dandy dreams and sweet sleep...

At the end of WW1, the treaty of Sevres gives the Kurds a piece of land in the South East. But the Kurds choose to fight against the very same Powers that awarded the Kurds this land. What did Ataturk and the Nationalists offer the Kurds in return for alliance ? Surely something better than a "Sevres Kurdistan", not less, right ?

You mean the official numbers? Those range between 15-20 million... But as we all should keep in mind: It's Turkey we're talking about... Not France or Germany - where numbers are accurate down to the last man... We're talking about a country, which would benefit in underestimating numbers which would be unlucky for them... Such as the fact that there are more than 20 million Kurds in Turkey...

As for your second question - let me just adjust and comment a little detail: we don't "occupy" our lands in the political sense... We do inhabit them, yes, but we're not an occupational force or new immigrants to a new land like the Turks on Cyprus...

There are within all peoples different political ideologies and movements...

Greater Kurdistan being united is a long time dream of many, if not most, Kurds... BUT - most of us are also very realistic and care more about personal health, wealth, education and economy than the dream of a hundred centuries...

So I believe that the majority of Kurds would be happy about and settle for regional autonomy and recognition of their identity and culture...

Personally, I do not advocate the division of any country... But I am the strongest advocat of decentralization, federalism and self-determination...

My people would be happy about having their own Parliaments in Amed (Diyarbakir - Turkish Kurdistan), Sine (Sanandadj - Iranian Kurdistan), Kerkûk (Kirkuk - Iraqi Kurdistan) and Qamişlo (Qamishlo - Syrian Kurdistan)...

Self-determination on small scale matters such as economy, industry, culture etc. is much more important to the man on the street than say for example foreign affairs and defense...

In fact, it was funny to see the person you intended the question for dodged it...

The Kurds were promised something FAR better than the Sèvres treaty - by Atatürk and co...

As ethnic maps will show, the political divisions of the Treaty of Sèvres were not in line with the ethnic ones... And that's in part why Kurds didn't accept the treaty, since it was encroaching on Kurdish lands - and not recognizing our territorial demands... So the Northern Kurds joined the Turks, who promised justice.

We, of course, fell for the trick... And there you go: the Treaty of Lousanne (in which we lost everything promised to us) - was ratified...

Ismet Inonu - Atatürk's right hand - a Kurd who'd sold out, spoke on behalf of the Kurds, representing us... Without our consent and support naturally - putting our hands and necks in chains, bringing us to our knees, to serve as slaves of the Turks till this day...

Many Turkish officials have since made a reference to this, saying things in the lines of: "Only Turks are the masters of this country - all others are slaves..."
