there are no gurantees thats why there was the treaty of gurantorer not the treaty of free for all,you intervene you establish the former govt.or protect from a foreign force and you move on,the zurich treaty stipulates there can never be enosis with the either motherland, and there can never be partition, the junta tried enosis it failed but then turkey partitioned the island de facto which is illegal.

EOKA headed by the likes of tassos would have on a daily bases killed and raped innocent TC and with no army would have been like lambs to slaughter, aided by the Greek army they push remaining TC into one enclave while systematically raping and killing the innocents until various European capitals and turkey take remaining refugees.

I believe you confused Cyprus with Turkey and what Turkey has done to the Armenians.

Turkey: the defender of human rights
Say another joke.

Turkey is the number one country in human rights violations, and has a history full of genocides, killings and rapes.

In 1974 Turks found the excuse to do the only thing they know to do good: Kill, rape and steal. Or am I forgetting any of the great achievements of the Turkish civilization?

Yes you are forgeting all the greek classics who are more barbarian than the turks as we the tc last saw from 1963 onwards.

You did commit mass RAPES, you did mass KILLINGS and you burnt our homes down, another form of thieving and are currently occupying our homes and lands if you have not demolished them or built roads through them....I saw this with my own eyes, NEVER deny this to me as you can add to your list LIARS aswell for yourselves.

So from what i understand Turkey gave back to you in kind.

Turkey's proposal was not partition. The neverending illegal attempts of Enosis by Greek and GC far right pushed Turkey to demand establishing the constitutional order of Cyprus with a political and geographical plan based upon equality of two communities, bi-zonality and bi-communality. Otherwise turkey could ask abolishment of 60s treaties which was alread violated by GC ruling elite with help of Greece's ruling elite and directly demand partition.

In 1977 Makarios accepted a solution based upon political equality, bi-zonality and bi-communality. Though it is said that he forced to accept it therefore his successors; namely Kyprianu and Papadopulos exerted too much to nullify the summit agreements Makarios signed.

If memory serves, Article 4 of the 1960 Treaty of Guarantee governs intervention by a guarantor power — Turkey in this instance — for the purpose of restoring the constitution agreed in 1960. But, of course, this had been set aside by Archbishop Makarios in 1963. So which Republic of Cyprus would you in the actual circumstances of the day have wished Turkey to restore, and not least, how? Since I venture that neither was a practical possibility, the question I was therefore hoping to have answered, so far in vain, is whether Turkish intervention can be better justified in the alternative under the ‘Kosovo doctrine’. And if not, why not. Earlier responses seem more concerned with posturing, which suggests that however simple the question — invasion or intervention — the answer is beyond them.

Occcupation at the levels maintained by Turkey, certainly in recent years, do not seem to me to be in anyone's interests, including their own. But this is a separate issue, and one which perhaps deserves a topic of its own. Demilitarisation of the island — with neither side possessed of battle tanks! — might well be helpful in removing one source of friction. However, again, that is not the topic here.

There were no rapes, and if you consider the 200-300 TCs that died in a period of 10 years as "mass" killings, then what do you call the killing of 6000 GCs in just days? What do you call the killing of Armenians by the millions?

You may try to equate Turks with us, but such an equation can not be done. History speaks for itself, and the facts are facts.

ARMENIAN GENOCIDE ALLEGATION IS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU

AND WHAT TURKS DONE WAS NOT DONE BY TC

No one pretends Turkeys does not have a great record re human rights violations, but to claim it is the 'number one' country in this regard is just another expression of your extremism.

This kind of racist view, of the evil of Turks and the implied superiority of Greeks belongs in the 10 centuary not the 21st. How cizilised of you!
