Don't know about the actual Uni itself, but it is in Wivenhoe on the outskirts of Colchester. Quite a large campus and Colchester is a really nice place, close enough to get to London if needed and there is a direct bus link from the actual Uni direct to Stanstead Airport.

City is by far the better uni
my step daughter lives in chelmsford and go's to college there.
She has opted for City as Chelmsford is very much the poor relative of City.
Although London is expensive it has cheap 24hr transport and you do not need a car.
Chelmsford has poor local transport that is expensive and you really need a car.
Food is far cheaper in London a small kebab and it is small in chelmsford is around £3
In london you get a medium for £2
and thats the same with most day to day stuff is around 30% more is Chelmsford.

As much as i know kebaps shops "westend kebaps" and the next to it which before owned by Ali Nidai are in competition and doner is now £1
Rooms are the most important . trust me.

Not quite sure why everyone's banging on about Chelsmford. AFAIK Essex University is located in Colchester (with another campus at Southend).
