GCs can move North and TCs will move to South

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Nicole22 » Fri Mar 30, 2007 8:20 pm

I never heard that one before! I heard of a similar story about sharing it out in God's way or the human way. This is a new one for me....thanks.

My GC mother used to tell me his stories on a Sunday night after she washed my hair and whilst brushing it. A few years ago, I was reading Gurdjieff when I came across a mention of Nasreddin Hodja, it instantly bought back so many memories. So I then went on to find out more about him and have hailed him up as a hero since.

LENA let me try and answer some of your questions but please concentrate on what I am saying as either I have problems understanding your English or you do not want to understand what I am saying;

Yes VP the reality stares me in the face every day … but I believe my reality is different from your reality.

How can it be different, the bottom line is that we are physcially divided and have been for 33 years, seperate every thing, schools police parliament army goverment offices hospitals etc etc, am I wrong?

TRNC is not a country. Cyprus is a country, Japan is a country, and Australia is a continent/mainland.

The TRNC may not be recognized but it is an entity that you have to deal with like it or not, just like when you go to Japan, the procedures are the same, ignoring this fact wont make it go away, am I wrong?

I told you I don’t have a choice, I was forced to live in the south. Which part of that you don’t realise? Should I draw it for you? Or consider you as a child and start my lessons?

No one is a child here what you are having problems with is that for th last 4 years you have been able to visit the north and even live here under our rules and laws (Fanos is the example) but this would be accepting that the reality you prefer to ignore exsists and that would really push your brain to the limit.

Yes it’s true, Fanos gave me some very useful information. I dare you to meet him and talk to him. Then you can come back and tell me all this bullshit about working freely in the north as a Cypriot! Look it’s my discipline to respect others personal life, keep any information that gave me about them selves for my self, so I don’t want to say what he said to me about that its his choice to do that if he want!

He is free to express his views on this forum just like anyone else but the impression he gives us is that he is happy living and working in the TRNC, what he tells you in private is no concern of ours and we have noway of knowing whether you are talling the truth only Fanos can confirm what you are insinuating.

Even my dad’s friend Pyros doesn’t know anything about that! Only few stuff about my visit their! So make your research first on that and come back to me…I will wait!

This doesnt make any sense...try again.

By the way what exactly do you want to reverse? Did I ever ask you to come and live here? NO!!

Please refer to what the heading is on this thread its about GCs going north and TCs going south.
The reverse would be me going to live in the south which I feel just as strongly as you do about the north. I cannot contemplate this as I see the south a pure GC state run by GCs for GCs, and moving there would be no different form moving to France, Greece etc etc.

But you did! You always try to force us to do things that we don’t want just to please you!

No one isforcing you to do anything you dont have to come if you dont want to we are discussing whether it is possible and it is, maybe not under the conditions that would suit a GC but it is possible if you can accept being a minority in a TC run state.

But you did! You always try to force us to do things that we don’t want just to please you!

have coffee with whom? you or Fanos?

Then I ask you to tell me if I have the same rights as you in the north like you have in the south …and I still wait a clear no…because the answer is no! I don’t want anything more than that! I just want you to realise where you are and what is going on around you! Come out of your TRNC dream world!

Lena dont you understand that its the south that claims it represents all Cypriots the TRNC does not claim this, never has, do you understand the difference? this is a very important point which you seem to have missed. We have declared the north as our country and here you are classed as any other foreigner in the TRNC.

As for TC working in the south … I know more that 8 … I know around 35…most of them work in building constructions and they don’t need visa or passports!

They work in the south where they claim to represent them so how can they demand a visa? but prefer to live in the TRNC must tell you something.

Any other questions VP???

When will you come out of denial the TRNC is a reality you have to deal with and if you want to progress ignoring it will not help. Its appears 33 years are not long enough for most GCs.....as long as GCs maintain the current stance we are here for the long haul.

VP........I agree with all the above telling you that Cyprus is a country, but I wonder why you are so keen to partition off this small island. Are you seriously telling me you would rather have a morsel of your country rather than all of it?

Well you should read back to try and understand th question to the above question but in short I will not be just another minority in my own country, I am an equal partner and demand to be treated accordingly. Partition under the circumstances and chasm between to the 2 sides appears to be the best option as we have been unable to agree anything for the last 47 years, when will you realize that its just not possible and these 2 communities want different things this forum supports what I have been saying and if the current trand continues we are destined to stay as we are well into the future.

@VP,

When I come to the "TRNC" next week, will I be able to have access to Internet, particularly in the Girne / Kyrenia area. I mean, do they have Internet Cafes, or else, I will have to miss the Forum for a while.

@Pyro,

Also in the RoC. Are there Internet Cafes everywhere, or only at select towns.

Thank you both.

That's good to know. One would not have thought so, since very few from the "TRNC" participate on this FORUM.

Perhaps they don't know about it yet. :!: :!:

Thanks.

Yes there are Kikapu.

Today most hotels have a coin operated computer at the lobby with internet access too. You pay about 1 CYP per hour.

Kikapu my impression is-and I could be wrong on this-that most TCs don't know enough English to participate in this forum. As for young Turkish soldiers serving here, sorry man they only know "yes" and "no".

Surprisingly they are many young TC who know greek. Where have they learned it given they were born after 1974 and for 30+ years the gates were closed is a mystery for me.

Thanks Pyro. Then I will be able to, if I'm allowed by my girlfriend, to perhaps keep in touch with the Forum after all.

That's very reasonable, paying 1 CYP per hour.
