GCs can move North and TCs will move to South

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby askimwos » Thu Mar 22, 2007 10:53 pm

Lena, I am judging from my family and friends...almost nobody is prepared to leave their jobs and move to the north if a solution is found. However, almost all of them dream of the day that there will be a solution and be able to retire in their villages in the north. We do live in Nicosia now so moving to the north coast once retired is just a 25 minutes drive so no prob with being far from their children... I believe this is the case with many GC refugees, although I don't claim to have any statistical evidence.

Sorry askimwos I just notice that by mistake....anyway...well I know what you are saying and I am a child of a refugee...but believe me my dad or any other member of my family or me want to leave our house here and live in the north. We all dream the day that Cyprus will breath again, that the solution and the united Cyprus will be reality ... but they are not willing to go back and live the rest of their life their like some people say! Ok they dream to go back, do stuff that they used to do etc...but when they think how is the reality the dream fly away. They are old enough that soon they will need their children's' help and support. They are old enough to have grandchildren and they want to live close to them and see them growing up and call them "pappou" and "giagia"!!!! They know that the solution is not coming tomorrow or in few days or weeks...it will take few years more! So its nice to have dreams but reality is something else!!!
By the way my dads house doesn't exist any more!!!!

Because they cannot afford any bastard nationalist or pseudo policeman come and kick them out anytime he likes.
also because they cannot afford a settler or a militant from Turkey visiting their house at night to rob them and they (like my TC friend) would have nowhere to look for protection or justice.
And because of 1000+1 more reasons

Jeez even the Maronites can hardly stand the situation there, have you seen Fanourio at TDN?

They may do in legal terms but as usual you make no reference to us the Turkish Cypriots. Unfortunatly for you they are now going to lift the embargoes because we have made enough noise to show them we are there. Administered by TCs....See declaration of independance.

Now do you understand our viewpoint of why we do not want to go south? I dont care what the world thinks they are not the ones who have to live its what I think and feel thats important and as you obviously would never contemplate let alone accept to move north and live under TC administration I would never want to move south and live under a GC administration, cant be that difficult to understand.
