Total BS. There is no law in England requiring you to produce ID, fingerprints or the like when out on the street. This is in the pipeline but has not been passed. Who ever is asking for ID at this points must be stealing your identity

Try to drive without id and you can see what happen . of course when they checked your name with dvla (police says DL check) or if they found record on your name(name Check) you will not have any problem. Otherwise you will get arrested . Doesnt matter law pass or not. I m sure about this . You should have something like bankcard , bill , drivinglicence, passport or smilar.

BS...i lived in London for 14 years and not once did i ever get asked for an id nor any of my friends.

What are you talking about??? A Law has to be passed. How on earth can the police arrest you? With what authority???? There is no ID law passed in England/Wales!!!!

ok, they dont call this arrest of course . they tell we have to bring you to police station to makesure who you are you say. BUT they accept to see a bankcard , drivinglicence , bill yournameonit, passport or smilar. If you are foreigner you will see . To English people i dont think they do same think. I m everyday on roads and i know 100s of people which they had smilar problem. Nyself always i carry my passport and when they stop me last week they was even checked the passport if its fake or not then they ask me second id which i showed them my bankcard and letmego. They also ask where you get your car , what job you do and smilar stupid questions

They started this year

I moved back to Cyprus this year DumDum. Living somewhere for 14 years does not mean they lived there 14 years AGO.....I lived in the UK for 14 years which means I went in 1993 and returned this year.

Why did they stop you? They have to have a reason to stop you??? Under PACE they have to have a genuine reason

They always have a reason. This is another problem. in Uk now they can stop and check without they have a reason and they give you a paper about this teroristlaw. Last time They stoped me that they thought my backlight is not working . before that they stop me that they thought i wasnt wearing seatbelt. One time on motorway they stop me because of this terorist check. And in the roadblocks they stopping without eason and they have to check everyone.

What job you were doing? They dont have roadblocks mornings untill 11 and between 4-7 . Dont call me dumdum then i will start to be rude as well. You might not driving a lot. my car is 2 years old and i have 22000 miles on it which i done this milage all in london.
