I will take it further to say that dperhaps we have reached a level of maturity as cypriots to put into to practice what you have described above. I also think that the generations that perpetrated such violent acts have now aged if not passed on and with a new generation of Cypriots we could make a change if we all want. We can start by challenging our own governments on policies and issues to take action.
Personally I beleive that more Cypriots need to stand with plakcards at the steps of the Presidentila palace in Nicosia demanding that the RoC governement act quicker adn faster and with more vilgilance on issues of unification.
I also choose the word unification here as I do not believe that cypriots were ever allowed to be unified , yes sure there times when they tolerated each other but not really acceted each other as the same human being that they are.
Hello dear humanist.I hope time has been healing some of the pain your family is feeling at the loss of the unborn baby.I have been sending you some Sufi prayers (via the ether) to help...
I do believe if there is going to be a just and lasting solution it will come from the people.Politicians have too much to lose if status quo changes. The big problem however is that people living in Cyprus do not seem to be as enthusiastic as we are in the diaspora to have a solution which will unify our belowed motherland. It is as if the status qou has slowly sipped into their soul, and is stopping them from wanting anything else. It is more understandable in the case of TCs,who are now a minority even in their pariah state, but it is puzzling to me that more GCs are not more demanding of their leaders to find a solution.I am now convinced that the GC NO at the referandum has been a bitter blow for the TCs,who know feel twice rejected by their compatriots. I honestly cannot see where a solution is going to come from. But I believe mutual empathy will have to grow a lot bigger before the politicians will act...I think us in the diaspora will have to push much more in the direction of a solution, which might ve a catalyst for those in Cyprus to begin agitating again...
I never thought I would ever give people computing advice...but dear humanist if you type {quote} and write whatever you want in between/or copy and past what you want, and type {/quote} but with [ ] instead of { },everthing in between will appear as a quote in a box...
