Hi Paul
We're flying to Cyprus in two months for a family holiday with a two year old, who is always on the go, I think my daughter has a portable dvd player, my grandson absolutely loves 'Cars', 'Nemo' and Fireman Sam!! He also loves books, so I'm sure she will buy a couple of new ones for the flight plus a couple of favourites, as its a family holiday we can 'pass' him round, but as we're flying at 9.30am he will be up very early and hopefully will manage to sleep for an hour or more during the flight..............like you the last time my daughter flew her son was only a baby so this will be a new experience for us too! When is your holiday? Hope the flight goes ok with your son.

Brandy !. Apparently my gran used to give me a dummy dipped in it when babysitting; probably explains why I'm an alky !.

First of all accept the fact that your little boy will not sit still and will need constant attention. This will keep you calm which is very important. Enjoy the time with him and do all the things that he needs to keep him happy and distracted. Do not get upset if he wants to jump from one thing to the next and make it fun for both of you. Get plenty of rest before anf take everytyhing that you think he will like. Have a good flight.

The minute he starts crying grab him and run to the toilets and lock yourselves in until he stops crying. Repeat this every time he cries. Your fellow passengers will love you for this. :D :D :D

Lets all be honest. Don't we all hate crying babies on planes? and don't we hate the parents even more for doing nothing about it?

Have a safe flight and a great holiday.

If it was Singapore airlines you'd have a full blown game console built into the seats! I remember hours of fun flying back and forth to Australia... :)

I remember when I took my daughter to Greece when she was five, we had a four hour delay and she screamed all of the way once we got on the flight.
Sorry, but what ever I did it did not stop her from crying.
I hope you have better luck than me.
