I met quite a few TC's in the UK -- have been to their weddings etc
And found them to be very nice folk .
I've also visited some of them and stayed with them in the north of Cyprus and again found them very agreeable .
The only problem I've really found is the nationalistically fanatical TC's ( the GC's have just the same kind on their side ) that will do anything to prove that the two sides can't get on with each other and also me when they found out that I wasn't quite as English as they thought.
One of my TC friends was severely criticised and warned after putting me up for a couple of days.
I've had problems with some of the settlers that live in the panhandle area and found that they can be very obnoxious and quite threatening at times but as they seem to be living in poverty perhaps I can just about understand that -- we were going to stay overnight but decided it wouldn't be a good idea.
I still say that the politicians on both sides should come to London and witness how well GC's and TC's work together and get on with each other.
The biggest problem in the north is interference from Turkey much to the detriment of the Turkish Cypriots who just want to get on with life.
