Actually there is a proposal on the table to open a total of 8 crossings and I think that Lefka is one of them. There is an article in politis newspaper quoting mr Lillikas saying that the RoC is proposing this. On another article it says that the RoC have at the same time they started dismantling the Ledra barricade they started working on opening the Pyrgos-Karavostasi crossing.

Here are the links:

Apologies the links are in greek, I will try to translate these when I find some time.

Maybe, its a nice game though that should have applauded since this is what you wanted in the first place.

Instead you reacted in a way that goes even further than the the trnc regime reaction which was fairly mild.

shahmaran...
well may he one day get knocked down just as hard as well!

As a long-time IT person I have a lot of respect for Bill and am honored to have conversed with him on a few occasions during the early 80s!

Prior to the Internet the World had an amateur network called the "Fidonet" which was all text-based (no graphics) but you still had forums called "echoes". Bill use to hang around "Dr Debug", "C++ Programming" and "Turbo Pascal" echoes along with some other computer greats such as DJ Murdoch (brilliant Canadian computer scientist) and Ralf Brown (“Ralf Brown’s Interrupt Lists”).

As a young school kid Bill wrote “GW Basic” the world’s first and smallest pc compiler (just 4k). That alone is an accomplishment worth heaps. Low-level programming is very challenging to say the least.

On top of that he came across as a really nice guy and was always very helpful and knowledgeable. A lot of people are jealous of Bill and that’s why there’s a lot of criticism.

I am touched as I write this message reminiscing of the pioneering hay-days of computers…

It's best to avoid using a brand new Windows until 3-4 months have passed and a "service pack" for it has been released. The first couple of months are critical and Microsoft will be polling for feedback like crazy now to catch all the errors/problems in order to release that service pack. You might want to buy Vista in July to be safer by which time it'll be a revision "B".
