Sorry people but my ADSL just went stupid on me while I was posting at the worst possible moment. Couldn't even get through with analog! Basically my entire XP network had a DHCP failure!!! Now online with a laptop running under win2000 as none of my 4 XP systems work!!!.

Anyway, it's done, the wall is down. Bashardis says that although the wall is down it doesn't mean that people can start crossing to and fro just yet until certain things are sorted out with the TCs. The live coverage continues until now with interviews with different people such as the mayor of Nicosia and a few others. That's all for now.

I wondered the very same thing, Sotos. Why the middle of the night? Is it because they feel that it's the wrong thing to do or something to be embarrassed about? It's a weird mentality, considering that it's the last dividing wall in Europe, this could have been a huge PR coup if they'd had more bells and whistles :)

For one, I am very happy about this news, it's a step in the right direction.
