Generally speaking, local food is reasonable but imported stuff is often exorbitant. Local prepared food is often of poorer quality (e.g., frozen pizzas will have a thick crust, not much poor quality cheese and minimal garnishing: the cheese is never a good mozarella, but sometimes a Danish pseudo-mozarella which is nothing like the real stuff or a local cheese).
Be prepared for a culture shock in restaurants, especially in tourist areas (soggy pommes frites with everything, meat overcooked etc.) Restaurant meals for two with a bottle of wine can be anything from about £15 upwards (salad with tahini and olives, main course, Cyprus coffee offered).
Hope that helps.
