Postby jayt » Wed Mar 07, 2007 12:13 pm

im just doing a bit of research for future reference so everyone who replies to my post thanks for your time and efforts.
this might seem a daft question to many of you but
what printer ink do you use and how much do you pay for it and whether it is an origional or a compatible cartridge

thanks again in advance

Most of my printing is done with a laser printer, original cartridges, £50 a go for 8000 pages.

Original HP cartridges – refills are shite.

Buy them in the UK if you can – much cheaper than here.

Better still – pay more for the printer and less for the refills, cheap printers cost ££££’s to run.

Wireless Canon Inkjet effort. Costs about £50 for all ink to be topped up. But is a pathetic amount of pages. Don't think it's even supposed to do a ream of paper (500 pages) of what it calls average prints (5% coverage if I remember rightly). Considering I now use it a fair amount for my business I am well considering a laser. Can get a Brother one for about £60 that costs about £25 (think Computer City do cartridges for that amount) for a cartridge that lasts about 2500 pages I think. You need to replace the drum every 12000 pages I think (all lasers need cartridge and drum replacements), and that costs about £40 I think. Although the Canon is good for direct CD printing (with those CD/DVDs you can get with a white face; none of that useless label rubbish).

Cheers

thanks for the replies .
the reason im asking is because my line of work in the uk involves selling ink cartridges and dvd media and i would like to carry on my work in cyprus when i move over in september (hopefully selling a lot cheaper) but obviously i need to know what the demand is for over there so my research starts now so thanks for any input.
