Hi. I am a Greek from Greece and from what i'm reading from these forums so far, many Greek Cypriots here claim they have nothing to do with Greece and some even hate Greece. If a thread like this has already been made then I am sorry but I was just wondering... Do you Greek Cypriots hate Greece?

I m a Turkish Cypriot,
I dont think any GC will answer this question but as much as i know them 80% love to be GREEK and 20% might dont like Geece . But because Hate is a strong word you should change it to dislake . Thanks

His Question is different ? Is nothing about Greek Cypriot. Its about Greece Greek.

Although I haven't travelled to every corner of Greece I've been to a fair few places and found that some Greeks think of Cypriots as Gypsies and not true Greeks -- now in Athens I found that the majority of Greeks despise Cypriots and make it very plain that they are not really welcome.

This and one or two other reasons is why I could never understand the Cypriots wish of a union with Greece.

We 80% TCs are thinking about Turkey Turkish as well smilar thing. But they dont think we are Gypsys. I beleive Cypriots fed up this Foreigner countrys. I hope one they e will be united under 2 controled goverment and everybody feel Happy.

Really? When I went to Greece I never got that feeling...but I guess I was lucky that I didn't meet anyone that felt that way...

Of course I'm proud of my Greek Heritage, just as much as I am proud of my Cypriot heritage...I am of course a Cypriot first and foremost, but also Greek, and as I said I'm very proud of that!

And of course I don't hate Greece, I visited recently and thought that it was a beautiful country, and we met many nice people, who treated us as though we'd been friends for years...there was a certain familiarity I felt when I went, the same familiarity I felt when I visited the North of Cyprus and met many Turkish Cypriots...(Who also treated us as though we were old friends...)

If Greek Junta didnt come to Cyprus at 1974(ENOSIS) now GCs will not be in this situation. They could even rule the whole island without TCs because i m sure untill now only few TCs could be left because of the way of RoC control.

AND I M SURE MANY GC FEEL INSIDE VERY BAD ABOUT THIS BECAUSE THEY PAID A HEAVY PENALTY FOR IT !!!!
BEING HONEST TCs might like GREECE but GCs dont think so.

How are you . I think this is a bit political question.
I been in Tselaniki and many other places in Greece and i can say they are very friendly people .

I'm glad to hear many of you Greek Cypriots love your Greek heritage and Greece aswell
