Do you hate Greece?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I feel closer to a TC than to mainland Greeks.

You mean the same TC manning militas in their own separtist enclaves to create corridors for the Turkish soldiers airdropped during 1974?

Although, I have a question for the Greek forum members. It seems that some people get the impression that Greek people do not tend to particualry like Greek Cypriots...(although honestly I didn't really get that impression when I visited... :? )

So my question is, what do the Greeks really think of Greek Cypriots and Cyprus?

Well the vast vast vast majority ofcourse likes Cypriots(99,9999).But the attitude of some Cypriots against Greece(and especially towards the (mainlanders) army conscripts that serve in Nicosia) alienated some people.Personally i don't know anyone that dislikes GCs.Here in Thessaloniki we have many students from the island and we are all good friends.(Very very beautiful girls i must admit). 8)

For example for us here if a country attacks Cyprus is exactly the same as if Rhodes,Vrete,Kerkyra,Thessaloniki or Kavala came under attack.

The military junta unfortunately betrayed all Greek people and GCs paid the biggest price. They were the ones who took the Greek army battalion from Cyprus cancelling what the elected previous Greek goverment had done they are the one's who organised the coup cancelling all the diplomatic moves that Karamanlis administration had done in the early 60'ies.They were traitors and Ioannidis(the dictator who staged the coup) is still in jail.

The traitors were and still are the leftist Greek Cypriots.

Junta is only who the real traitors blamed in the past and still blame.

a) The last time they did this it ended to disaster

b) GCs learned their lessons and don't tolerate this any more.

c) The biggest "weapon" in RoC armoury is that RoC is a recognised independent country and any intervention from another country weakens this "weapon"

Actually Karamanlis and Papandreou in the 50'es and early 60'ies were just patroning Makarios. He had all the initiative he wanted in the talks.Mainland Greece acted like a protector as the one who had a stronger voice towards USA and Britain and in the UN council.

When the junta took power the didn't acknowledge Makarions almost any right to negotiate. They thought they should make the decisions for them without them just like they did with us here.So don't confuse junta with the elected Greek goverments. It's two completely different things.

Greece's policy after the restoriation of the democracy is almost the same as before the coup.GCs decide we both discuss and then united we try to achieve the best we can.

Get off your nationalistic gay horse , scratch your arse to ensure it is where it should be and not where your head should be. The fucking nationalistic bullshitters of the brigade of ELLAS ELLINON XRISTIANON are the sole body responsible for the catastrophe of 1974 . Weshall never forget the fucking cowards who put up with the JUNTA until little Cyprus was invaded and and in the process handed them freedom and democracy. The Greeks ought to be eternally grateful to us for being the reason that democracy was restored to them .Wake up man , I'm not a leftist , I'm a realist You are full of intoxicating nationalistic bullshit.

miltiades, get a brain.

In 200 years from now will there still be Cypriot fools like you thinking Turkish Cypriots are brothers? You will still be blaming the junta, when Makarios tried to reduce the National Guard to 60 percent of its personel capacity and I have posted a thread on this and you still are like a chicken pecking for corn. The real traitors in Cyprus, the left and Makarios wanted to reduce the Greek officered National Guard. After Turkey invades the leftists tratiors have mythologized history and made the junta the culprit. But history tells us all who was the traitors, despite the convenient slogans handed out post 74 both in Greece and Cyprus by the large body of professional demonstrators and sloganeers.

Why should we prey for Cyprus to take control of Greece?

So some crazy priest-ethnarch-politican rolled into one can rule Greece? Maybe this priest-ethnarch can make Greece leave NATO and join the Non-Aligned Movement and visit Moscow. Then maybe this priest can arm leftist militas to protect himself and his regime. Then we can work to cut personnel levels by 40 percent in the Greek military until we can abolish it so that only leftist militas exist and no real military force that can stand to Turkey. Then we can blame everyone but ourselves when the aggressive militaristic Turks invade.

If a thread like this has already been made then I am sorry but I was just wondering... Do you Greek Cypriots hate Greece?

It is not an easy question!

We respect Greece for what has achieved and for what Greece is for the Greek nationals and the ones who like calling themselves Greek.

We respect it for all its past and achievements, like we respect all other nations on Earth.

We blame and hate the Greeks governments for what they did to us in 1974 in particular.

We are Cypriots!
