AlexISS, you are absolutely correct and this is precisely what I have stated numerous times in the Forum.
A solution to the Cyprus problem can only come through respect, we must respect TCs, their identity and their concerns, and they must respect ours. I believe proportionality is the key, without proportional power-sharing, there can be no fairness and hence no solution. Greece is a vital ally to Cyprus and I hope this is how it will remain for the future. Moreover, I do not see Greece as a foreign country in the ordinary sense of the word; yes we are separate sovereign states, but in many respects we are also one and the same.
P.S. I personally regret that Venizelos did not get his wish, and Greece did not enter WWI until very late. As otherwise, if it had, there probably wouldn't be a Cyprus problem today, and there wouldn't be all this pathetic bickering about whether we are Greek, Cypriot or whatever.
