Yes I know. I was just refering to Natty and DT who claimed they still love their Greek heritage.

From the Greek mainlanders I have dealt with, they have always been kind to me, but I have had conversations where Greek Cypriots were spoken in a negative manner. I did notice that mainland Greeks tend to be entrigued with me being an Armenian Cypriot.

We don't hate Greece! I think you got the wrong impression because of the way some Cypriots but NOT GREEK Cypriots talk about Greece in this forum, and I am not talking just about Turkish Cypriots. Greek people are OK people. Their only problem is that in Athens and some other places they swear a lot and they can be more rude than Cypriots ;) And women from Ahtens are kinda bitchy also :P

No Venizelist we do not hate greece nor do we hate Greek people, I personally feel that I do not have much in common with Grek people. This became very aparent to me growing up in Astralia, among Greek/ Australians. I have also had some racism from Greeks who at times attacked Cypriots and called Cypriots not greek in a very racist kind of a way. At first that annoyed me, later as I became more comfortable with mysef and hence proud of being Cypriot I let go of the notion of being Greek. I am now a proud human being and if I need to identify as anything or when people say what is your heritage I reply Cypriot, some know that Cypriots can either speak Greek or Turkish adn when the question is asked Greek or Turkish my reply now is Greek Speaking. I also have Grek/ Australian sister inlaw. She at times drives me crazy but I am sure it is not that she has Greek heritage, she is just my sister inlaw, who at other times I get along greatly. Due to the Cyprus situation I am now learning that Cyprus has a unique culture and linguistically we are also different so I am a Cypriot and neither do I hate Greek ethnicity of Greece.

I am also learning that we are all human beings and we all get driven by the same God spirit, so I am beginning to think that it is a human construct to want to identify as something or rather to this end I am evrything, I feel Australian, as I feel Cypriot as I feel gay, as I feel talll, as I feel short etc etc

I am one human being that for the time being I belong on this earth and I am no longer going to divide myself up to a particular identity I am me and that is all there is to it.

Sometimes I feel like aturkish cypriot who speaks Greek, if you get that you will get where Im coming from.

Hmm after reading Humanist's post I guess my real question is are you Greek Cypriots proud of your Greek heritage? And do you Greek Cypriots also consider youselves Greeks aswell? From the Greek Cypriots I know personally all of them are proud of their Greek heritage and consider themselves Greeks aswell as Cypriots but I just want to hear your thoughts.
