we'll forgive you. I have a neighbour that won't raise the roc flag either, much like you he believes in a separate independant sovereign state of Paphos which is un-recognised by the world.

Still we're all children of cyprus and if some of us want to make out that they have seprate countries then the rest of us should try and understand.

P.S unlke the trnc he's no way as organised..they haven't got an elected govt or anything yet.

It sure sounds like it.

Anyone who denies the very foundations of Cyprus can never hope to be part of Cyprus because to “belong” means to first ACCEPT the family/group you wish to belong to, and that acceptance has yet to come from the Turkish Cypriots.

Similarly, Turkey claims to want to join the EU and yet rejects some elements of the EU family. Does Turkey ever have any hope of joining the EU while retaining these beliefs? Of course she doesn’t.

Many Turkish Cypriots today deny that Greek Cypriots are the indigenous people, deny that Greek Cypriot’s ancestors have been traced as far back as 3500BC on the island, deny that the Republic of Cyprus is the sole legitimate authority on the island, and even deny that Turkish Cypriots are a minority on the island!

Think about that for a moment… if you stumble on basic arithmetic how can you even hope to comprehend the more involved issues? Unfortunately, the Turkish Cypriot community has spent most of its time here fighting against the island’s indigenous people, forever challenging and rejecting.

Challenge & Reject has been the “official” Turkish Cypriot policy ever since most of us can remember and the close proximity of the Turkish motherland constantly encouraging revolt has not helped the situation at all.

It is therefore little wonder why Turkish Cypriots have an identity problem.

Unless the Turkish Cypriot community ACCEPTS some hard facts and EMBRACES the indigenous people of this island they can never have any sense of Cypriotness.

oh enough already with your indigenous bullcrap, Greeks didn't just appear there, they came from somewhere like everyone else and there were people there already before Greeks, and we came there over 600 years ago, so save it will ya, we know exactly who doesn't want to live with who, we saw it before 74 and we have seen it as recently as a couple of years ago with the AP...

i know exactly who i am, i am a Turkish Cypriot and to be honest i was born AFTER the war so i don't know who the hell are you to tell me who i am, and how "Cypriot" i am, the RoC means fuck all to me at the moment, its up to them to make something out of this situation, and i tell you, extreme right views like yours on the ethnic differences on this island, are definitely not going to do it my friend, so either change your tune or just stick your head back into the warm sands of denial, where you feel comfortable to know that everything is so clean cut and easily explained through nativity...

i suggest you let the people who are in touch with reality to deal with it, obviously calling yourself Get Real is not enough...

i was born in Cyprus, does that make me indigenous too, or is it exclusively God given for Greeks?

indigenous my ass....

I said NOTHING about Greeks so please pay attention to detail and also please clarify who went where over 600 years ago? It appears your facts of Cypriot History are confused.

i know exactly who i am, i am a Turkish Cypriot and to be honest i was born AFTER the war so i don't know who the hell are you to tell me who i am, and how "Cypriot" i am,

What constitutes a “Cypriot” is already laid out over the thousands of years of history as acknowledged by Archeologists and Historians Worldwide and certainly not what you, Denktash, or Talat, invented in the last 30 years.

.. the RoC means fuck all to me at the moment,

If the Republic of Cyprus, the island’s only legitimate government recognized by the whole world means so little to you imagine what the pseudo-Turko-Cypro entities born after July 1974 under the illegal Turkish military base called the “TRNC”, mean to the people of Cyprus! I’ll bet you never pondered over that...

its up to them to make something out of this situation, and i tell you, extreme right views like yours on the ethnic differences on this island, are definitely not going to do it my friend, so either change your tune or just stick your head back into the warm sands of denial, where you feel comfortable to know that everything is so clean cut and easily explained through nativity...

I’m a purveyor of FACTS, and in time you too will come to realize that I indeed am aptly named.

i was born in Cyprus, does that make me indigenous too, or is it exclusively God given for Greeks?

Greeks are irrelevant. The term “Greek Cypriot” is a relatively modern differentiation to “Turkish Cypriot”, or if you like a means to distinguish religious and cultural identity between two communities but it does NOT infer a GENETIC tie to Greece.

Boy let me tell you something , your ma and you Pa were born in Cyprus and that makes them Cypriots just like you grandparents were and their grandparents too. All this bullshit about being different from any other Cypriot is the result of Turkish propaganda that has been taking place on the island for over 30 years. You will have to decide how much of a Cypriot you are , just like the G/Cs will have to also. Liberate your self and stand up as a proud Cypriot , the RoC flag was designed by a T/C .
