Four Turkish Cypriot have applied the EU human rights (ECHR) for restitution of their property in Limassol elicted a dismissive response from the Goverment.Spokesmen Christodolous Pashiardis on 3 January described the move as diversion and Turkish Cypriot press claims it had thrown the RoC in Panic.
The suit was lodged by four brothers in respect of vineyard and an office/shop block in Limassol , which their family vacated in the GreekJunta attack in 1974. In the first such application to the ECHR by TC brothers , sought the restution of the Limassol Property as well as compensation of 7.000.000 EURO.
Mr Pashardis rejected claims by the brothers lawyer that it was smilar to the successfull suit by Greek Cypriot Titina Loizidou in respect of her property in Kyrenia.
-Asked on 5 January to comment on reports that wife of UK primeminister Tony Blair , Cherie Booth QC , had given legal advice to the brothers.
