OIL FOR PEACE? SHOULD CYPRUS BUY PEACE FROM TURKEY?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

OIL FOR PEACE? SHOULD CYPRUS BUY PEACE FROM TURKEY?

Postby fanourıo » Sun Mar 04, 2007 5:37 pm

It just came accross my mind and I am wondering: If the Greek Cypriots locate oil, should n't they INVITE Turkey to be part of the deal in exchange to its military withdrawal from Cyprus? This will mean that everybody living in Cyprus will prosper. Do you agree?

Turks are greedy. They would take most of the oil and still they wouldn't take off their troops!!

Part of the deal?????
You mean Cyprus signs with BP, BP takes (as they did to Greece 80%) they give Cyprus 20%.
You mean Cyprus to give 10% commission to Turkey?

Any more funny ideas fanouraki?

Cyprus has no rights to any oil found in Cyprus' territorial waters like they have no rights to any land on our island. This Fanourio guy sounds like he has a Turkish boyfriend or something.

BIG FAT CYPRIOT NO> Turkey ought to get it's sorry arse from Cyprus with a big fine, to be plkace back into the Cypriot Community for the direct benefit of a every cypriot, 50,000 pounds per cypriot that would be just and fair way to depart after causing so much pain and suffering to the people of cyprus. 50,000 pounds for every cypriot who was born right up to the day turkey invaded my homeland.

OOOOPPPPSSSSSS! You totally forgot that Turkey is here with 40,000 troops! I am suggesting we buy them off!! I did not say they are right to be here......or are they? With people like you, so nationalistic and so negative I will not be surprised if they just decide to stay for another 400 years as they did until 1878 from the 1450 s! Why would they leave anyway, are the Turkish Cypriots safe with you people..... and I dont have a Turkish boyfriend jerk!

it's got nothing to do with nationalism but a llot to do with justice and fairness. why punish someone who brings war onto humanity. with your argument then the US ought to be compensated for her struggle to make betters lives for the Iraqi people.

The international community has voted may I remind you and the world that Turkey is found guilty of Violating of Human rights. To such an end there should be no buying peace from Turkey but the international community to rally behing its court finding of guilty and put pressurefor Turkey to withdraw its troops.

If the Intrnational Community practiced its foundatyion then they would find a solution for the people of Cyprus. Justice for the refugees from both sides and safety for the cypriots who have concerns about their physical safety, turkish, armenian, people with disabilites, gays, lesbians,
