furthermore people say leave greece out of the picture one cannot leave greece out of the picture becouse they conspired with turkey and britain to devide the island of cyprus for thei own benefits.

...and where is your credible proof of this?

Its a fact that Britain and America were cooking up a plan at one time to divide the island and that Turkey has always wanted to get their hands on Cyprus.

The difference today is that Britain and America, to a seemingly loose degree, seem to respect Cyprus' sovereignty as does Greece who has is taking a back seat in the Cyprus problem. Turkey is DIRECTLY involved in the Cyprus problem and has caused a lot more detremental issues to the island since its 'independance' in 1960 than Greece ever has.

The Junta regime was one government in Greece which lasted 6 years. You cannot say Greece is currently a problem in the Cyprus issue because of a short-lived government which was overturned in 1974. Turkey wanted a piece of Cyprus BEFORE the Greek Junta and they currently still want a piece of Cyprus. To continually blame the Greek Junta TODAY for the Cyprus problem is just so so stupid - I think it is you who needs a reality check.

At Christmas 1963 communal fighting had broken out between Greek and Turkish Cypriots. The British had spying facilities in the Troodos Mountains, and were unwilling to see them threatened. The Johnson administration proposed partition, rejected by Greece on behalf of the majority Greek population. In mid-1964 a proposal was made that Greece give up Kastellorizo. When the Greek ambassador said that the Greek parliament and constitution had not authorised to him to give away parts of his country, President Johnson let the customary cover of diplomacy slip, revealing the realities of US power politics, and yelled: 'Fuck your parliament and your constitution. America is an elephant. Cyprus is a flea. Greece is a flea. If these two fleas continue itching the elephant, they may just get whacked good ...We pay a lot of good American dollars to the Greeks, Mr. Ambassador. If your Prime Minister gives me talk about democracy, parliament and constitution, he, his parliament and his constitution may not last long... Don’t forget to tell old Papa-what's-his-name what Ι told you.' When Athens complained, Johnson rang up the ambassador and threatened him: 'You had no call putting in all them words Ι used on you. Watch your step.'

From what I know the Junta in Greece was a very unpopular regime for the majority...I remember reading a short story written by Samaraki about living under the Junta, it seemed like one of your typical dictatorships to me...

I found these clips on Youtube of a concert that Dalaras performed at to celebrate the end of the Dictatorship in 1974..

It's sad that Cyprus's problems just got worse in 1974... :(
