For our Engish speaking friends 'Ayrelli' or even 'Agrelli' is asparagus.

Again Gav, The old Turkish village of Kofinou (between Larnaca and Limassol) is a good place to find Ayrelli and Kapari (capers). When you come to Cyprus you will let me know and I will take you to these places.
Collecting Capers can be a little dangerous as snakes seem to hide in these bushes. The famous deadly 'FINA'.

Gav ,, we also used to near the turkish speaking cypriot villages in the paphos area like petra i think it's called to pick kapari and ayrelli too. it was sad to see those villages empty and ghosty. but anyway that is the sad thing about war. that was such fun though playing in open fields, braging about how much we collected and sometimes my father used to put some more in my younger brothers basket, telling me to pretend that he collected more, i guess fathers have some knowledge of what to do next to keep evryone happy. see we are all more same than we think.
