Tragic loss of Cyprus identity

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby free_cyprus » Sat Mar 03, 2007 1:01 am

its seems to me that turkish and greek origins seems to have more roots in cyprus then it turkey or greece. there is no place in the world where education fails its own people as the case in cyprus. the greek speaking cypriots always trace their origins to greece and the turkish speeking cypriot always traces their origins to turkey..................................... i must be one the few cypriots who actualy traces my roots back to cyprus before greece and turkey got there. but then again the land of cyprus has been occupied at least 17 times by powerful invaders. i dont hear to many shouts for arabs or italians or english or the venisions ......................ohhhhhhh i know they were greeks and turks to after alll greek and turks are the only two nations in the world who had empires and they pillaged raped and murdered......................... is it i who lacks education. maybe the turkish and greek speaaking cypriots know something i dont know?????????

the trnc is not your country VP, infact it is not a country at all, it is stolen land from 200,000 refugees. I promised my self that I would not respond to your coments .... but when people claim that stolen land is their country it gets up my nose.

hey I wonder if the RoC and France can assist the enclaved cypriots and Armenians to to divide the trnc into their little country???? :)

Go for it....if they are in danger and being buried alive and also have guarantee arrangements then you have everyright to take action. But you have to get passed us first, that ok.

Recognized or not it is my country, you omitt to mention the refugees from both sides, we to have lost land in the south. The GCs now have the opportunity to apply to the property commission for return or compensation.

But hey which GC in their right mind would want to live as a minority under TCs in a TC state.

andri-cy wrote]Well, these are not personal questions so I don't see why anyone would refuse answering them. Here, here I will start this off:
1. Yes I was born in Cyprus, in Limassol
2. Both my parents were born in Cyprus, actually in Limassol. One of them in the city and the other one in Episkopi.
3. I am 29, I have not spent any time in Turkey. I spent 4 years in Greece studying and the last 7 years in the USA. That gives me about 18 years in Cyprus...

there we go. Wasn't hard at all....[/quote]

yes well andri mou you are not ashame of anything and you have probably not violated anyones human rights to feel shamed.

I am a Cypriot with Turkish origins..... = Turkish Cypriot

You are a Cypriot, who speaks Turkish = Turkish Cypriot

VP, I have really meant to ask you this for a while, because it keeps coming up, so if you really do not mind, could you please answer these few questions for me.

1. Were you born in Cyprus and which town.?
2. Were both your parents born in Cyprus.?
3, Out of the 45 years ( your age), how much time how you spent in Turkey ( in years and what ages)?

Please answer the questions, as I asked them, without telling me, that you're all Turkish Cypriots.

Thanks.

I do mind.

Thank you for your honest answer VP.

I'll get back to you later, with my assessments.

You have to understand,Kikapu, that it is not that simple for VPs to answer these questions, there are so many of them, they wouldn't know where to begin...

Also,if one starts giving out personal information,it will become more and more difficult to maintain the charade that they are one individual.

How ironic...I live on the island and you live in a foreign land telling me to piss off

you might live on the island but like 99.9% of the island and it dont matter if they speak greek or turkish you are all brainwashed to love the sooo called motherland............................... i on the other hand have one motherland my cyprus simple really turkey i dont recognize greece i dont recognize. i dont recognize turkish speaking rulling in the north or the greek speaking rulling in the south, evething these two do they have to get permission from turkey and greece before they can do anything, everything to do with cyprus these two control it soo dont tell me the independent south and the occupied north its all shit they are both occupied the south and the north bt greece and turkey....................... these two countries have so much influence in cyprus thay cypriots have no identity they are lost they are all looking to turkey and greece for inspiration when we should have self confidence and the vision to libirate cyprus for cypriots not the greeks cypriots or turkish cypriots becouse there is no such thing also we should bring in a law that forbids anyone in cyprus to call themselves greek or turkish but they are allowed to say they are greek speaking and turkish speaking cypriots, but not the words im greek and turkish ............................we are cypriots simple as that
