The Cyprus flag was designed by a Turkish Cypriot artist..
The flag depicts the shape of an island that goes by the name of Cyprus, for at least 2000 years.
Let's change the flag of Cyprus, why not?
Let's change the name of Cyprus also. Call it Artichokeland Bananaland.
Let's change the people of Cyprus, the demography (that is done).
Let's change the shape of Cyprus also (Ask HIM/HER for a big earthquake with a large tsunami).
It seems to me that, nobody cares about this "land". They care only to gather personal wealth and personal "Credibility".
You have to go away from "Ithaki", in order to realize how much you love her and how much you miss her.
Neither side can blame the other side entirely, for the tragic recent history of the this land.
Let it be noted that a nucleus of fanatics in both sides, Greek and Turkish Cypriots considered the Zurich London Agreements as a provisional stage for achieving their final goals, Enosis and Partition respectively.
Did the constitution collapse with the 1963-64 events? Does the sunken ship "Deniz" in 1959 mean anything to you?
Do the names Hikmet and GurKan say anything?
Who was Dirvana and what did he do, or did not do for Cyprus and why?
Who first created segregated enclaves and expelled their fellow citizens by force and atrocities? Atrocities brought more atrocities back and the fanatics, of both sides, won. How many thousands of Greeks were expelled from Turkey, because of the events in Cyprus?
Why was Makarios equally hated by the Greek, Turkish and American governments and how many attempts against hi life were made? What percentage of the GCs did not vote for Makarios and what did they want instead? What did Dervish Kavazoglou die for? Who killed him?
What did the Protocol, signed by Toumbas and Chaglayangil in 1966 in Paris, was all about?
When are we going to realize that Enosis and partition are not going to happen? When are we going to realize that if we don't come together and make something good out of this island, we would all lose it for ever?
TP: Does it legitimize the TRNC?
AD: It cannot legitimize the TRNC. No one can legitimize the TRNC. Unfortunately, the weakness of the Greek side is that they believe that the TRNC can be recognized, but it is not possible. Even Turkey will not allow it to be legitimized. Turkey cannot accept the existence of a separate Turkish state, very close to her shores. It is very much against her psychology.
TP: And, therefore, Turkey’s reaction to what you have said would be that the north would have to subsist as part of Turkey or, at least, subordinate to it, would that be correct?
AD: Yes. The annexation of the north to Turkey, they think will not be very much in favour of the interests of Turkey, because still they consider themselves as a guarantor power over the whole of Cyprus.

The Cyprus flag represents the last thing that unites us.
If you burn the flag... you would burn what symbolizes the last remnants of dignity on this beautiful island.
I voted NO.
