What can we expect for £100,000 (sterling). We are hoping to get a 2 bedroom flat, can anyone offer advice on the best way to buy - private, agent, off-plan etc.

If your based in the UK I wouldn't suggestion off plan. Rather buy something already up and running before your depart with money. For 100k you should find an endless list of available properties. Try the agents by calling them. Try the ones that have been around for years in Larnaca: Hornsey, Destalo, Investia, Africanos etc.

We are considering selling our Apartment in Oroklini, 3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, communal pool etc, however would require a little over £100K Sterling. I can send details if required.

I just bought a flat from Koutsou Developers in Makenzie -which in my opinion is perfect (in town and by the beach). They are excellent - highly recommend them (and very reasonable priced) without hidden extras. They have a website: www.koutsoudevelopers.com. Good Luck :D

Jerry,

Obviously you can get a good idea of asking prices from various internet sites. However, to get best value you really have to get yourself over there and devote time to checking out the different areas of town, looking out for private 'For Sale' signs. Buying a re-sale direct from the vendor, cutting out agent's commission, should get you best value, plus in an established area you know exactly what the views are; off-plan you have no idea what could be built in front of you.

Thanks Gavcar, We already have a house in the north near Bogazi but someone is living in it. I really don't want to lose another one.
