We are looking to buy a flat in/near Larnaca

Sell and buy used things, look for a job etc.

Obviously you can get a good idea of asking prices from various internet sites. However, to get best value you really have to get yourself over there and devote time to checking out the different areas of town, looking out for private 'For Sale' signs. Buying a re-sale direct from the vendor, cutting out agent's commission, should get you best value, plus in an established area you know exactly what the views are; off-plan you have no idea what could be built in front of you.

I'm inclined to agree with you Radio, I get the impression that there are "tourist" prices and "locals" prices. I have also been told that some Brits return to UK after living there for a while and that these are the properties one should look out for.

OK. You know that you can come to north cyprus and apply to the court and they will give you back or they can give you compensation for it .

Hi Jerry,

Yes, you are right. So-called 'distressed' sales - where expats want to return to their country of origin, for whatevere reason - are the best buys in my opinion. Chances are they are fully furnished as well, as it's not uually cost effective to ship stuff back. You might even get a 'bargain' car included.

Hi Jerry,
I have an apartment in Pervolia, Nr Larnaca. The price is within budget, it's got a communal pool, furnished, 2 beds, high spec.
If you want the details just ask and I'll forward them to you.
Chris
ps I'm not a distressed xpat, whatever that is, just taking the profit on an investment.

hi jerry,

as you didn't specify what type of flat you are looking for, ie; in a complex with communal pool, views, or whether you require it more residential.
Do know a couple of properties but do not a few more details of your requirements, then I may be able to help.

chrisp :)
