Britain: Republic of Cyprus designates airports on the island

27/02/2007

The Republic of Cyprus has a complete and exclusive sovereignty over the entire island of Cyprus and alone has the right to designate an airport for the purposes of the Chicago Convention, said a letter by the British Department for Transport to the so-called Turkish Cypriot airlines.
A spokesman of the Department confirmed that a letter was sent to the airline to give them a final answer to their application that the British government allows direct flights between the UK and the illegal airport at Tympou (Ertzian), in the areas of the Republic of Cyprus occupied since the Turkish invasion of the island in 1974.
The reply given to the legal counselors of the Turkish Cypriot company on February 20 said the Republic of Cyprus has made no such designation in respect of the illegal airport.
“The Republic of Cyprus has a complete and exclusive sovereignty over the entire island and alone has the right to designate an airport for the purposes of the Chicago Convention. The Republic of Cyprus has made no such designation in respect of Ertzian,” the letter stressed.

Brilliant. If they have sovereignty then they have just snubbed a third of their people again and driven a bigger wedge between us. The siege will not work……….What else have they tried?

Get over it Zan!

If you want to be an anarchist then go to Sicily, if you want to be a terrorist go to Tahiti, if you want to be Turkic go to Turkey, BUT if you want to be CYPRIOT then go to the RoC.

It's as simple as that!

Demand your human rights ???????????????????????????????
Does that also include the human rights of the 200 thousand Cypriots who lost their ancestral homes and have to show a passport to visit their birth country.
You are still full of propaganda excrement.
I said I would ignore you but then I changed my mind and will carry on exposing you for what you are ! A fully paid employee of the "trnc" propaganda office.
Ps. Do you get a bonus for posting such preposterous claims of HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES !!!

You forgot a reality that you keep missing time and time again. If I want my rights as a TC then promote the TRNC/KKTC.

The natural selection process of Cyprus has already been in motion for some 5,000 years. The indigenous Cypriots have seen off scores of invaders/occupiers and none of them have lasted the ultimate test of time.

You and I are but a mere speck in the history of Cyprus, an island pre-destined to be dominated, ruled, and celebrated, by that hard-headed, hard-working, pompous, loud-mouthed, persistent, and arrogant human kind called the... KIBREOS! :)

It is by no accident that he alone be the master of this troubled island…mark my words.

I think it was the guy who was sitting on a chair at the beach, demanding that the waves would stop coming, in making those "Hamlet" cigarette / cigar commercials, many years ago, on British TV.

Zan, do you realise that on the 28th of February 2007, turkish speaking cypriots have more rights in cyprus than any greek speaking cypriot, those who choose to have equal rights have excercised that right, they have gotten EU passports, they have RoC id cards, they work and get equal pay as any other cypriot in the south, they are sending their children to the English school and some use the health care facilities available to them. Most importantly they have the right to move freely within cyprus and live where they want too, greek speaking cyriots do not have the same privilidge. am going to have to get a violin just for you am affraid ;)
