Zan , I understand the frustration that is felt concerning the continued isolation of a large section of our Cyprus community. I have always believed , and still do , that the ROC is not concentrating its efforts in winning over all of our people with action and not merely words. There are certain fundamental issues , direct flights being one of them , where No government on the same situation as the Cyprus government , will advocate a change of heart and accept what it , as well as the international community , consider a violation of its sovereignty. Such an acceptance is paramount to recognising the status imposed by force.
There are many areas , especially humanitarian ones , that the Cyprus government ought to be addressing .

May I also remind all that Phanourios Drousiotis recently made an appeal on this forum for donations to go to the Turkish Cypriot Cancer Association. I beleive that the response was poor from members of this forum , but I also believe that the Cyprus government ought to promote such activities and raise money for out fellow T/Cs who are fighting such a dreadful decease. It is actions like these that will encourage rapprochement and not allowing direct flights , where after all Cyprus does have two International airports open to all.

I kinda agree with miltiades on this one, hey Zan what sort of a deal would you like? and for the sake of my question partition is not on the cards. I would like to hear from you what you would consider a good deal not for you but for the rest of turkish speaking cypriots and citizens.

thanks

All the reasons why I think the way I do Militiades. People are people and mostly do things for themselves when it suits them. I have been a bit of a dreamer all my life and have always tried to see the good in people but have found the whole process tiring. What is truer is that SOME people are good and the rest are sheep. They will follow the good when it fits their need and then turn like animals when it does not. Giving a little back to people that are in need is something that should be done with the purest of hearts and some people cannot even do that.

when you live consciously it is tiring of course it is tiring because you have to think of every word and every action as to potray your higest self that alll is tiring. I couldn't agree with you more that most people are followers and they will do anything they are told if manipulated and controlled in a manner that is so covert and unethical.

Conveniently both run by GCs. Include TCs in the system and then tell us to use the airports in the south. This is the best way to get Tcs on your side offer them jobs within the "RoC" system and watch the change in attiudes good or bad.

first of all we do not have a president or a prome minister that represents the cypriot people, we have the sooo called leaders of the north and south representing their supposedly community. to me this si a slap in the face and an insult to whole of cyprus since the only thing that devides the cypriots is christianity and muslims turkish speaking and greek speaking. anyone who studies riligion will tell you that christianity and islam is the same religion. one cannot become a muslim without excepting the teachings of the bible. lets look at spoken language of cyprus the amount of times cyprus has been invaded and occupied in the histroy i m suprised we only speak two languages. when you have people of cyprus arguing over human rights of an individual for example when the cypriots speak of minorety and mojorety they already create a complex. firstly are or are we not cypriots. the answer is yes . but many people in cyprus make the mistake in believing that they are greeks or turks from the mainland of greece or turkey we have nothing to do with these two countries we have an accosiation with them though the spoken language thats foar as it goes. cyriots have not graspted even this simple idea that we are cypriots and we should fight for our right instead we give our rights to turkey and greece as well as britain and america this si disgraceful to all who are the pillors of the comunnity of cyprus all the ay to the so called presidents and their representatives that i do not recognise. when we think as one we will be one when we think in twos and we create divisions.............................................................
heres a simple question for all who read this china is becoming a super power now and in the next 30 years it will over take america as the most powerful nation on the planet ..............heres your question ................if china invaded europe occupied cyprus and forced everyone to learn to speak write and have chinese names ............... will that make us chinese ????????????????????????????????????
