My friend sorry but this is NOT how things work. The president in Cyprus is not an absolute ruler.
I think the best you should do is find us a solution. To do that, you have to talk with the TCs and they with themselves and Turkey.
If you ever manage to do find us a solution in line what your otherwise noble intentions be sure nobody will object. The question is how far you can go...

you can forget about that mate i will have you in court for treason if you make remarks like that. and anyone else for that matter.it will be one island there is no two states one country. there is no confering with greece or turkey or anyone slse for that matter. cyprus self rule self determination will be determined with whole of cyprus for the peopel fo cyprus for the harmony of cyriots who have suffered for centuries in the hands of occupiers.

free_cyprus, you can't just get rid of the constitution. I think you need 75% in the parliament to modify it. So first think how you will get the 50%+ to become president and then worry about the 75%

We already tried the "Republic" version, and it failed to harmonize all the Cypriots.

So now what, do you want to give it another go, or what.

self ditermination means self ditermination where has it got in the zuruch agreement where they left cyorus alone to determine their own future nowhere on that paper. everything that was agreed on was agreed between greece and turkey and britain who had a say in cyprus no one..................... if we are to be independent self determining island then, the first thing to go will be the greek and turkish connections to the island we can live in peace without them. what have they ever done for us for the good of cyprus people nothing not in history not in the present day. istead of them applogising to the people of cyprus for all the agro they coused us all the death they have coused to cyprus peoplee as a direct result of their actions they want us to bow our heads and say thank you...................................... when we win our independence from these two countries who have had proxy war on the land of cyprus for their own benefit by creating so much trouble for all cypriots and sufferings then they will be shown the red card mate lol

right now what we have in cyprus is not republic or anything else what we have in cyprus is an international laughing stock before the international community. thats sad for an island that has never declared for in its history towards any nation and yet we have been invaded murdered tortured and enslaved for centuries who speaks for us ............. no one speaks for us except turkey and greece america and britain all to do with their own self interest no interest for cypriot people
