I have a question, what would Cyprus's future have been if it hadn't been part of the British Empire? What path do you think it would have taken? It's something I've often wandered about..I know that you could keep going further back in time and ask, what would have happened if the Ottomans had never come to the Island, but the British are the most recent people to govern the Island, and I know that many people feel that their 'divide and rule' policy didn't help the situation in Cyprus, so what would have happened if that policy hadn't been implemented, for example?
(Just something I've been thinking about for a while now...and I'm by no way placing all the blame at Britians door. If there's one thing I've learned from doing research into the history of the Cyprus problem is that we all take a share of the Blame ...I just wander what Cyprus would have been like...)
