WARNING! Rajs Tandoori Indian Restaurant in Limassol

Postby kasia » Tue Feb 27, 2007 1:20 pm

I have never eaten such a horrible indian food!
All of the meals suppose to be made in traditional tandoori oven (thats what they write in MENU), but they are not! they are made in microwave!! And traditional indian bread which should be tasty and delicious was disgusting - full of oil and was stinking horribly!
BTW i don't eat much as I am on a diet:) but the size of meal suprised me- wasn't enough even for a women on diet!
one more thing: prices -9 cyp is ok for a meal in restaurant but not for the starter size...

I would like to give this warning to enybody who want's to try indian food in this place on Amathus ave! Disgusting!

I've never tried that particular restaurant, but I can never find decent Indian food anywhere in Cypus, especially Nicosia. Can anyone recommend a good place ?. I now cook my own Indian and Asian food and its better than anything i've tasted in years

Same applies to Chinese. I've never had a decent Chinese meal here, except one: a new Cypriot-owned restaurant opened in Larnaca a few years ago and they imported a Hong-Kong guy and his wife to show them the ropes. The food was excellent but, as soon as the chef went back home, the quality became progressively less Chinese and more Cypriot. The only thing that surprised me was that they didn't offer chips with the fried rice. We ate twice after the chef left; the first time, I thought it may have been a bad hair day in the kitchen. The second time it was a mockery of Chinese cuisine.

..and within one minute's walk is the Karalam, a truly ethnic Southern Indian restaurant.

Hard to find a good chinese in Cyprus, but I think in my opinion "CLOE'S" in Paphos would be the one to try. High class decor and service with good food and reasonably priced.

Masalas on the Dhekalia Road, Larnaca. Best Indian. People come for Ayia Napa and Nicosis as the food is so good. Ghanga just off Dekahlia Road near Princess Hotel isn't bad. Bit more spicey and pricey!!!

Yummy...

Sure, a 2 hour trip each way, just to eat Chinese?

Shanghai Dragon in Kapparis near Paralimni is pretty good. They do delivery too, but not sure how far!

Have to endorse Twinkle's comment regarding the Ganga Indian Restaurant in Oroklini/Pyla (borders). The food, decor, and service are excellent, and the prices reasonable too.
For Chinese - we enjoy Lily Wongs, also in Oroklini/Pyla borer area - just off the Dhekelia Road. Have tried one in Larnaca (the one that flys the Chinese flag outside), but wasn't made to feel welcome, and the food was mediocre to say the least!
