ban turkish and greek flags from cyprus forum

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby humanist » Mon Feb 26, 2007 10:43 pm

I'm not one for banning .... howver it would be nice if individuals chose not to display greek/ turkish flags.

I do have an idea though how about we combine the RoC flag with the Turkish Cypriot flag and please lets not be boring and come up with three different colours people that is so boring, I say lets use the cyprus and green olive branches as signs of peace with the star and moon on top left corner. Man I wish I was more creative I could have come up with an example :)

turkish_cypriot
your a moron and you dont even know it your half a cypriot mate but its people like you who think this is the way its always been with cyprus . then i can safely say im italian or persian or iraque or i could be syrian but then again i could be turk or greek or venician or english.the truth of the matter is cyprus has been raped and raped and raped again till we dont know who we are except the fact that we are from cyprus. but also we have those who have no other identity but to be proud to be turkish or greeks. cyprus people are their own worse enemy becouse the only history cyprus has is one of occupation and slavery and that you can write on a single page

Oh so I'm wrong to call myself Turkish Cypriot yet its fine for you to turn round and label me "half a Cypriot", and you have the audacity to call me a moron  . I was born and bred in Cyprus so whats your point? I have a house there, I have all my family and friends there, I am a CYPRIOT OF TURKISH ORIGIN!

Whatever you are I couldnt care less, you go preach your bullshit to someone else and stop being so fucking foolish. How old are you man? You're stratergy sounds like one of a 17 year old. You are not "super confident" (<---), youre a FOOOL!

who cares about ataturk the name means something to turks not cypriots and it sure dont mean anything to me . you are right about one thing mate your a turk alright ................and there is a diferance between turkish speaking cypriot or a greek speaking cypriot then turkish or greek cypriot.

Free_cyprus why does it matter what someone displays or their name? Anyway maybe a member is turkish or greek - not cypriot at all - and wants to display their own flag? Who gives a stuff? Why it bothers you I do not know.

Actually free_cyprus I think you deserve to be banned I hope you get banned, because you're a new member who has attacked everyone from your very first post.

Turkish_Cypriot has made lots of quality posts, seems a nice respectable individual from everything I've read so far..... whereas all you seem to do is attack everyone and you've attacked T_C quite a lot as well and he seems to have been quite restrained.

You know, when he joined he didn't dive straight in the Cyprus Problem section he posted some stuff about himself and introduced himself a bit. In short, free_cyprus, he earnt some on-line respect whereas all you seem to have earned from what I can tell is my boot giving you a big fat kick up your jacksie my son

What are you talking about? OMG child just stop chatting shit PLEASE!

Im born in Cyprus, my mums Cypriot my dads Turkish, so that would make me a Turkish Cypriot. What is wrong with that? I have nothing against Greek, GC people so why are you telling me to change who I am to try and fix something that isnt broken? It doesnt do me harm to identify with my roots nor does it twist my judgement.

And about Ataturk....SO WHAT? Who are you to judge me on my signature? I already told you I have family in Turkey so I have the right to identify with both my cultures. Its like telling a mixed race person to choose between their white side of the family or their black side of the family. I have a bit of both Cypriot and Turkish in my blood so what I choose to call myself should be of no concern to you.

Just because someone calls themselves Greek Cypriot as opposed to Greek 'speaking' Cypriot doesnt mean they are wrong or currupted, where is the logic in that?!?!? Furthermore, if you find that logic I suggest you recycle it and put it to better use next time.

turkish cyp, never mind about Free, he is just a mixed up kid who has no idea. Though I did agree with a couple of his posts. Thanks for sharing you family dynamics if you feel Cypriot then you are.

My friend you have been a gentleman, and the fact that you have resisted the temptation to scould him, proves just that. I also like your thinking.

Thanks Humanist & Pete.

I feel more Cypriot then I do Turkish, I was born in Cyprus, I grew up there, all of my family and friends are there, its my home. I've only been Turkey a few times for a holiday but it doesnt matter, I still have the right to be proud of both my cultures so long as it doesnt have a negative effect on me. I dont see what the problem is in having a Turkish quote or respecting Ataturk.

I'm no angel and I've lost my rag a few times on here, but at least it was because of something more significant to the Cypruts problem then just what someone chooses to call themselves.
