I was told that it originally said "this time you ran, next time you'll swim" , and was rightfully deemed to be in very bad taste, so they changed it.

i have never seen such a writing nor a quote anywhere, and as funny as it is i wouldnt want to see it, however the quote from Ataturk is valid for all ethnicities who live in Turkey and are proud of their country and can openly express it, unlike Kurds...
