How does the casino businesses profits directly benefit the TRNC economy (other than license fees). Dont forget 99% of the casinos are leased to companies from Turkey. The GCs who contribute to these establishments are not really doing business as in the normal sense of trade but feeding their own habit or illness.

Think I'm answering a few of your points here VP.

1) GC's wouldn't do business with someone like american bearing and since thats your source right now I'm guessing thats why the said that.
2) GC's are not afraid of being branded traitors over here. Its a very lax society and I gave you the example of the gamblers as a situation which everyone knows who they are but apart from a few tutting nothing gets said to them.

So what I'm saying is that the credibility of your source is not one in which they would have received an honest response from a GC and the fear of being branded is not so important over here. Overall I don't see any issue with any GC doing business with a TC.

So what you are saying is that you dismiss the source as it was expressed by the American programme which GC businessmen attended. Plus you feel Gc businessmen do not fear doing business with TCs from the north, thats your progotive but I still feel that the stigma of doing business with the enemy is very strong and that GCs out of loyalty to their official cause not to support the economy of the north is very much the GC official line. Your brotherinlaw is very rare and with profits to made trading with the north then why arent more businessmen flocking north?

I dismiss the source because GC businessmen would have seen right through the real aims of this american programme VP.

And by the way a TC businessman over here is not regarded as the enemy. I think i know a little better of what GC's think being a GC myself.

DT you are making a grave mistake in thinking that our very good friend vips knows less on the workings of the gcs than the gcs themselves. grave mistake to say the least. come on mate he is got special training, and after all he is got a couple of gcs friends he visits.

Could you clarify the real aims of introducing businessmen from both sides? if not to encourage business between north and south, what are the ulterior motives here? is it that GCs do not agree with the overall programme that they dismiss everything they do even simple introductions?. I am having problems understanding your reasoning. So if your brotherinlaw was invited along and met a TC businessman he could make a lot of money with he would see right through the AMerican programme and refuse to do business....??? its either very strange and we have a lot to learn about GC mindset or just an excuse?

I'll put it very plainly VP

A GC will not deal with a TC bussinesman under the auspices of a programme that promotes the north as a separate country.

Can you understand that?

Got it....

Even if it means losing business which does not promote a seperate country?

Politics before profit....the national cause before economics, tells us all a great deal about the GC mindset.

You must be the only person who values selling out more than sticking to your beliefs for the good of your country (wthether rightly or wrongly).

If that was the TC mindset then you should abandon all prefferable solution methods and join us in the republic cause you'll all be rich from oil!!

Think this says a lot about character my friend.

Its the way of the world maybe the south is unique which I doubt very much as you mentioned yourself GCs adore money and money always seems to wins through for some reason.

The extremist is very clear here in this exercise as you have a GC businessman who refuses to do business with a counterpart only because the introduction was made by an organistion they feel promotes the TRNC. Find this diificult to believe somehow but of course you knwo GC mindset better thanme as you are a GC and I am a TC, thank you for reminding me.

As far as oil is concerned you can keep it when you find it...nothing to do with us...good luck.

do you mind reciprocating this VP and let me know the price of your viewpoint?

If this is purely a GCmindset then why don't TC's take the offer of trading via the recognised ports of the ROC rather than than insisting on the north? Why do they sacrifice business for patriotism?
