Cleaning the Forum

Postby Admin » Sat Jan 08, 2005 4:36 pm

Hello,

I noticed that some posts are nothing more that just swearing. I will be "cleaning up" the forum so if you see a post of yours missing this will be the reason. From now on please try to be a bit more mature. If somebody is out of line, report him/her by sending a PM to me, and don't reply.

Thanks.

Standards of decency

Postby donyork » Mon Jan 10, 2005 2:38 am

This forum, sadly, has been hijacked by a few extremists who have nothing to contribute except venom. Worthwhile though it is to be reminded that such people exist, the end result so far as you are are concerned is that quite shortly they are likely to be the only people you have.

I disagree. Although there are some extreme views posted on here from time to time, that is part of the debate. To silence the extremists is to silence the vibrant debate that encompasses the Cyprus problem.

By and large, this forum contains some very well reasoned arguments forwarded by intelligent individuals who are interested in taking the debate beyond mere rhetoric and towards finding some common ground. It is certainly better than many other similar forums I've had the displeasure of visiting.

My tip, if you don't like the extremists, challenge their views... they run out of arguments pretty quickly.
