Not only they are liars,
they also boast about it!

The Greek Cypriot Foreign Minister, George Lillikas, went to Lebanon to sign some agreement about some kind of cooperation between the two countries and it was announced that Cyprus has given Lebanon(?) an amount of 100,000 for that particular deal blah blah blah... (Source: Cyprus News Agency)
CYPRUS TIMES suspected the purpose of Lillikas visit to Lebanon and we have published it: It was all about OIL suspected to exist at the South side of the island, under the sea between Cyprus and Egypt, and apart from the Egyptians Lillikas also wanted the Lebanese and the Syrians along with the Israelis to be included in the deal.
Ever since Nicos Rolandis was a minister of foreign affairs of the Clerides government in the south, (rememeber these gentlemen?), there were rumors that on the south coast of Cyprus there was the possibility for Oil. Even our own Serdar Denktash recently made word about the South's moves but nobody seemed to beleive him. We did not beleive Lillikas went to Lebanon to have an arabic coffee with his Lebanese counterpart. Neither did he go there to give the Lebanese 100,000 Cyprus Pounds!!! (what a lie!)
However the Greek Cypriots, not having in mind that the Turkish Cypriots are entitled to some of what is to be drilled, not only they sign agreements behind their OWN people's backs, they are also claiming that this kind of deals must be kept secret until they are signed!!! (Quoted from Tassos Papadopoulos statement after Lillikas signed the deal with the Lebanese and after the Turkish reactions) This leader has some gut!
CNC TV PLUS channel of the South, which somebody is telling me is controlled by leftist AKEL party, was boasting about the Greek Cypriot success over the Turkish Diplomacy by actually introducing their news headlines with " famous Turkish Diplomacy and Turkish Secret Services caught in the sleep. The Cyprus Government managed to sign a deal for petrol with Lebanon before they knew it"!
Nevertheless Greek Cypriot leader Tssos Papadopoulos was declaring (yet again) another frigit NO when asked by reporters on the same channel, if he would ever sign a similar agreement with Turkey since Turkey , based on te international sea law, might as well be entitiled to portion of whatever is going to be drilled, if ever.
It seems that Papadopoullos and his like, which we insist DO NOT WISH to have a solution to the Cyprus problem can not see one thing: Turkey, a power of 75 million people just over Cyprus, could help the island bring up his oil, sharing this oil with Turkey could ease the tension that was on for the past 50 years and that all this could only be a blessing for Greek and Turkish CYPRIOTS.
Such or any solution to the Cyprus problem does not pay “The Papadopoullos and Colleagues Company”.They just had to rush and sign agreements with everybody and POCKET THEIR COMMISSIONS!
I have to remind you that George Lillikas is a specialist in this field, but he has one competitor: His own wife!
You see his wife’s advertising company is undertaking governmental deals for campaigns abroad about the tourism of Cyprus from the semi controlled Cyprus Tourism Organisation ranging over 500,000 Cyprus pounds a year ever since her husband became minister.
Currently her company is biding for a 1 million pound deal for promoting the use of the EURO in Cyprus. If I am not mistaked she managed to grasp the deal already, beat me if I am wrong, but Lilikas had to beat the record of black money if he is to strike a multimillion dollar deal with Lebanon, Syria Israel and Egypt especially before Turkey knows… I wonder if Tassos’s advisors in his Zurich Office informed him about the deal and the details of the commissions involved.
You see HE was caught asleep when Lillikas was already pocketing commissions. ( Does the name and address International Investment World Corporation Inc, Usteristrasse 44, Zurich, Switzerland ring a bell?) if not search it on the internet: It is the address of a Greek Broker named Panagiotis Papadakis dealing in international oil deals and intergovernmental deals, a business partner of highly esteemed Greek Cypriot politicians as Papadopoulos, Lillikas and others.
And let people, tommorrows voters, talk at coffee shops about the young minister from Panagia, the village of Makarios, that he is going to be selected by the AKEL to be their candidate for the presidency…. Poor minds. Lillikas is there to make real money, not joke with politicians!
And one last note: if the Turkish Diplomacy was caught in the sleep as the Greek Cypriot press of the like of CNC PLUS TV claims then how did they manage to complain BEFORE Lillikas visit to Lebanon about the rights of Turkey on the oil? and why did Papadopoulos reply that Turkey had no right to this oil and that he will never sign a similar agreement with Turkey?
